Chapter 2: An Inspector Calls

The Detulux team are shocked when the latest INTERPOL agent assigned to their case, Inspector Jacques Russo, puts two-and-two together and realises that Detulux Incorporated the legitimate domestics supplier might have something to do with Detulux Incorporated the illegal arms trading firm.

There's a mad scramble as Inspector Russo makes a surprise visit to Detulux HQ. Will Russo find evidence of a link and arrest the team? Is Pain really dressing as Doc Holliday and putting on a terrible Southern drawl as a disguise? What does Pain's (very expensive) solicitor have to say about all this?

Ben Nevis is the strongest man in the Highlands, and there may be a story to explore there in the future regarding his strength. I don't know, I really haven't thought about it! Maybe it'll just remain a mystery forever.

Title - 114: "An Inspector Calls"
Subtitle - xxv. "Ben Gets Completely Tanked"

(Entering the warehouse, Pain is overjoyed to see that the only vehicles occupying the room are a couple of large military-type trucks. He and Slymme are shocked, however, when they notice that off to one side Ben is standing holding three tanks above him, all stacked on one-another. Russo doesn't notice this as he's fixated on the trucks.)

Russo: Exact-lee why do you need all zesé military-grade trucks?
Paine: They're army surplus, Inspector. Got all the paperwork for 'em if you need it. We use 'em to transport our goods around, sorta a cost-effective solution to logistics.

(Behind them, Ben wobbles across the floor as he loses his balance. Slymme watches Ben while Russo interrogates Pain.)

Russo: You 'ave to undairstand zat ai see zis as 'igh-lee suspicious. All zésé emptay warehouses, et ze first un ai come to eez stoked full of military-grade transpairt.

(Ben wobbles past in the background in the other direction, trying to regain his balance. Slymme addresses Russo.)

Slymme: Certainly, but it's not like there's an entire stock of tanks and assault vehicles, Inspector. They're just trucks.
Russo: All la same, ai weehl need you to fairward on le papairwairk you monshé-oned to mon office.
Slymme: I will organise it. [Shouldn't take too long to forge up some transfer documents.]

(Ben wobbles past behind them again. Pain puts his arm around Russo.)

Paine: Shall we move this lil' tour along?

(The three men leave. Slymme looks worried at the sight of Ben, having regained his footing but really struggling. Pain distracts Russo as they walk out by pointing at the warehouses opposite.)

Paine: Y'all noticed the interestin' architecture we got here?
Russo: What, ze big gréy square ware'ouses?

(Once they are outside, an elite henchman slams the warehouse door shut. Ben finally crumples, exhausted, and is crushed by the stack of tanks on top of him. The Captain and some henchmen appear from the lift space.)

Captain: Ben! You okay, buddy?

(A hand emerges from under the pile of tanks. It gives a thumbs up.)

Ben: Ahm fine! Jus' havin' a little rest doon here. If'n ya could get these tanks offa me though that'd be magic, pal.
