Chapter 1: Occupant Sin 4

Mr. S. Pain goes to Spain! Travelling to a remote rural location with the Captain to buy a biological weapon, Pain finds himself suddenly up against a massive cult of Spanish brainwashed zealots out for his blood.

Can the intervention of a seven-foot Scotsman and a well-dressed woman who looks suspiciously like his accountant save the day? And what role does the druggie superagent Jack Bauser play in things?

(It's basically Resident Evil 4. Seriously.)

Page Notes

Episode published on Tuesday 11th of December, 2007.

After Ada talks to Krauser, who basically tells her outright that he's going to kill Leon, she takes off after the mercenary to stop him from carrying out his nefarious plan. We experience this in the Ada storyline "Separate Ways", where you actually play as Ada during the plot of Resident Evil 4. She suddenly doesn't seem so mysterious when it turns out that she's spending most of her time chasing after the main characters (and yet, in her "reports" seems to believe that the real, most important storyline is hers). It's basically an excuse to reuse all the same locations from the main game as well as the cutscenes, and the knife-fight quicktime event plays out again except, when playing as Ada, all you have to do is press the right button to stop Krauser from making the killing blow.

After she stops Krauser's first attempt to kill Leon, she just sort of forgets about the whole thing and goes back to carrying out her mission, leaving Krauser to try and ambush Leon at a later point. Nice attention span there, Ada.

Title - 59: "Occupant Sin 4"
Subtitle - xl. "Not Quite Magenta"

(Bauser pins Pain to the floor. He spaces out for a moment, and says something aloud to himself.)

Bauser: All for the Consortium's sake.
Pain: Who?

(Bauser screws his face up as he realises what he's just said aloud.)

Bauser: Dammit! Almost let it slip!

(Bauser brings the knife down towards Pain's throat, Pain jerks his head back and tenses his fingers expectantly.)

Bauser: DIE!!!
Pain: Erk!

(Someone fires a gun.)

SFX: BLAM!

(The bullet knocks the knife out of Bauser's hand with a "PING". We see that it was Samada who fired the gun; she stands on a gantry overlooking the platform where the two men have been fighting, a smile on her face and a smoking gun in her hand. Pain takes the opportunity to land a right-handed punch straight into Bauser's face. Bauser falls backwards off of Pain. Both Pain and Bauser look up at the gantry, at Samada.)

Bauser: Well, if it isn't the bitch in the red dress.

(Samada pinches her some of the material on her dress, looking at the colour.)

Samada: ...Red? Really? Actually, I think it's more of a pink...maybe even a fuchsia.

(She points her gun at Bauser again.)

Samada: ...Anyway, you'd best run along before I shoot you in the head.

(Bauser clenches his fists angrily.)

Bauser: Damn it! This isn't over!

(Pain dusts himself off and stands up as Bauser climbs over the railing on one side of the platform, muttering as he goes.)

Bauser: Don't know who they're messin' with. I'm Jack Bauser!

(Pain straightens his tie as Samada leaps down on to the platform from the gantry. Pain seems unimpressed.)

Pain: I could've handled it.
Samada: Oh please! He was on top of you!
Pain: He was leaving himself wide open! I was biding my time!
Samada: He was about to stab you in the throat!
Pain: Giving him a false sense of victory. All part of the plan!
Samada: With your own knife!

(Pain takes on a sly look.)

Pain: Pfft. Details! I handled it as well as you handle my accounts.
Samada: Not very well, then -er- I mean, I'm not your accountant!

(Pain leans down to pick up his knife.)

Pain: Since you aren't my accountant then, perhaps you would explain both why you are here and what possible motive you could have for saving my arse other than the possible fact that my death would mean one less client for you, on the unlikely prospect of the slim chance that you are actually my accountant Samara Kyler, Ms. "Samada Wrong".

(Samada leaps over a railing, just like Bauser did.)

Samada: All will be revealed, at the end!
Pain: Hmmm...that's partly what I'm worried about.

(The Captain stands up, his head woozy from hitting the railing.)

Captain: Urgh...

(Pain dramatically points his knife forward in the direction Bauser escaped in.)

Pain: Captain! Glad you could join us again! I suspect Mr. Bauser knows where Burdener is. Let's go ask him!

(The Captain peels off one of the nicotine patches on his face, suddenly enraged and not particularly listening to Pain.)

Captain: Damn patches ain't working! I NEED A CIGARETTE!!!

Episode tagline: On a high school math test, Jack Bauser put down "Violence" as every one of the answers. He got an A+ on the test because Jack Bauser solves all his problems with Violence.
