The Kyler family is infamous for producing a long line of lady thieves and adventurers that thrive in dangerous situations and screw over everyone that isn't them. The current generation of Kyler is so far performing to type.
Most people unfortunate enough to cross Mara describe her as being a bitch and say that the only person that truly knows where her loyalties lie and what motivates her is herself. The only exception to this is Max Velarion, who is not only still in business after competing with her for various prizes, but regularly employs her.
Officially, Mara is Max's accountant. How good of an accountant she is is up to debate due to Max's inability to stick to a budget (or even devise one) and the fact that Mara refuses to do accountancy work for anyone else despite not being exclusively on Max's payroll.
Ever one for self-improvement, Mara speaks 6 different languages (Italian, Russian, Mandarin, Japanese, French and her native English), has studied escape artistry and is generally a sarcastic smartass.
