Chapter 1: Occupant Sin 4

Mr. S. Pain goes to Spain! Travelling to a remote rural location with the Captain to buy a biological weapon, Pain finds himself suddenly up against a massive cult of Spanish brainwashed zealots out for his blood.

Can the intervention of a seven-foot Scotsman and a well-dressed woman who looks suspiciously like his accountant save the day? And what role does the druggie superagent Jack Bauser play in things?

(It's basically Resident Evil 4. Seriously.)

Page Notes

Episode published on Tuesday 18th of December, 2007.

Possibly the scariest moment in Resident Evil 4 has to be when the game locks you in a series of narrow maze-like series of containers with a horrible monster that looks like it's been created from pieces in a meat locker. The monster plays with you as you run around looking for buttons to unlock the doors (why there would be buttons to open the doors at all if this is supposed to be a trap is beyond me) and when the doors do unlock there's a short timer countdown before the cage you are in gets dropped into the abyss below it. Having just looked up the boss fight on YouTube, it's not apparent what the containers are. I don't see any cargo in them, and it's an awful lot of effort just to trap an American agent, especially since there's a way out of the trap.

The monster gets referred to as "It" by Lord Saddler as he taunts you over the radio before it attacks you, but official game documents and websites refer to it as "U3". There's no obvious reason why it's called "U3", but by strange coincidence I was playing Streets of Rage 2 the other day and one of the thugs was called "U3", a bald chap with sunglasses. Maybe this is what happened to him after he left the criminal syndicate?

The claw sprouting from U3's back was a lot bigger in the game, and it was actually the parasite controlling the creature. I buggered it up when drawing it here.

Title - 60: "Occupant Sin 4"
Subtitle - xli. "A Playful Encounter"

(In a cavern outside, above a fall into the ocean, several cargo containers dangle. Positioned on top of these over the gap, Ben wrestles the monster he's encountered. He holds it in a headlock, as it tries to claw at him and wriggle free.)

Ben: Ha ha ha!
Monster: GRAAAGH! SNARL!

(Ben licks one of his fingers and then sticks it into the monster's ear, wriggling it around.)

Monster: GRAAAGH?
Ben: Wet Willy!
Monster: GREEEUURGH!

(In the monster's back, a claw sprouts out. It has a small mouth with serrated teeth between the claws. Ben is oblivious while he gives the monster a noogie.)

Ben: Heh heh!
Claw: SCREE!

(The claw snaps shut, and snips of a chunk of Ben's hair.)

Monster: GREHEHEH!

(Ben angrily grabs the monster's long tongue, squeezing it.)

Ben: Oi, you cheeky bugger! That was uncalled for!
Monster: GRURK!

Narrator: And so-

(A short while later, Pain and the Captain round a corner on the road to where the storage crates are hanging.)

Captain: Whoa.

(Ben is swinging the monster around in circles by its tongue with little effort.)

Captain: You think he needs help?
Pain: Nah, he's doing fine. Let's press on this way and leave him to it.

Episode tagline: When Delilah cut Samson's hair, he lost all his Herculean strength. Cutting Ben's gingery locks won't make him lose his strength (probably), but it will piss him off enough to make him smash you in the face.
