[Chapter 1: Occupant Sin 4]
Chapter 1: Occupant Sin 4
Mr. S. Pain goes to Spain! Travelling to a remote rural location with the Captain to buy a biological weapon, Pain finds himself suddenly up against a massive cult of Spanish brainwashed zealots out for his blood.
Can the intervention of a seven-foot Scotsman and a well-dressed woman who looks suspiciously like his accountant save the day? And what role does the druggie superagent Jack Bauser play in things?
(It's basically Resident Evil 4. Seriously.)
Episode published on Wednesday 8th of July, 2015.
Ada exits Resident Evil 4 by dramatically leaping from a platform, and then a few seconds later a helicopter appears from beneath the platform with her riding it. So, how did she achieve this without being chopped into mincemeat by the helicopter's blades? We posit a more realistic ending here (admittedly in a non-canon ending in context to our story too).

(Pain yells at the surrounding henchmen, gesturing for them to lower their weapons.)
Pain: Lower you weapons! I'm not having you all shoot my accountant.
(Pain turns around so that Samada's gun is now pressed against his forehead. He glares at her has he reaches into the right side of his jacket. Samada keeps her face carefully blank. The henchmen behind them all look nervous.)
Samada: I'm not your acc-
Pain: -So you keep telling me.
(Pain removes the Fluga sample vial from his jacket and offers it to her. He still looks mad, whereas Samada is genuinely surprised that he's giving her what she wants.)
Pain: Here, keep the bloody thing and piss off.
(Samada smirks as she takes the sample from him, admiring it as she clutches it.)
Samada: Why, thank you! I knew I could count on you.
(She smiles pleasantly at him as she begins playing with he tie. Pain glares at her errant hand in confusion.)
Samada: Oh...and just one more thing...
(She pulls on the tie, dragging him into a kiss. He's shocked at first...)
Pain: Mmmf...!
(...and then he responds positively to it, blushing as he runs a hand through her hair and presses up against her. They both look like they're enjoying it.)
Pain: ...mmm...
SFX: SNOG
(Samada then ends the kiss as abruptly as she started it, darting off and leaving Pain frozen in place, stunned. Samada runs to the edge of the platform and leaps off, sample in hand. Henchmen amble about, not sure what to do now. Some glance over the side to see what happened to Samada. Captain runs forward towards the edge so he can check for himself. Pain, meanwhile, stares off into the middle distance, a dopey look on his face. The Captain reaches the edge and skids to a halt as a helicopter suddenly rises into view. Behind him, Pain begins to approach.)
SFX (helicopter): CHOKKA CHOKKA CHOKKA
(Samada's grapnel is wrapped around the bottom of the helicopter. She winks at the boys as she hangs in the air, clutching the sample.)
SFX (helicopter): CHOKKA CHOKKA CHOKKA
Samada: Bye, boys! 'til next time!
(Samada's helicopter flies off into the distance, Samada climbing inside. The guys watch her go, Pain smoothing down his hair after the helicopter messed it up. He's still blushing. The Captain glares in the direction the helicopter went. Behind them, the henchmen begin to wander off, the Lieutenant having a muted conversation with Ben.)
Captain: Bitch.
Pain: She wasn't going to shoot me.
Captain: Sure looked like she was.
(Pain starts tucking his tie back into his jacket, still blushing. The Captain is still annoyed, arms folded across his chest.)
Pain: It was just another wind-up. She'd never shoot me. I just know she wouldn't.
Captain: She's getting away with the...y'know, the thing.
(Pain pulls the sample out of the left side of his jacket, much to the Captain's surprise.)
Pain: Nah, I got it right here.
Captain: Wha? But I thought you just...I saw you...what?!?
(Pain turns to the Captain, the blush gone and replaced with what can only be described as a sinister grin equivalent to a "troll face".)
Pain: When I made the call for *reinforcements, I described what the sample looked like and told them to bring a glass tube that looked like it.
Editor's note: *See ep. 55!
(Pain has a flashback to five minutes ago, the Captain conversing with Ben and Samada while the Lieutenant hands Pain the fake sample.)
Pain: The Lieutenant just gave it to me a few moments ago.
(In the present, Pain holds up the real sample to an excited Captain. Pain looks immensely smug.)
Pain: I just handed our dear "Samada" the fake one!
Captain: So now we've got the real one! We gonna stick it in storage?
(Pain turns serious, staring down at the sample in his hand. He then glances across the platform to where a couple of henchmen sporting flamethrowers are burning Burdener's corpse. Pain approaches and tosses the sample onto the fire. It bursts open in the heat and foams, crackling and popping. Pain stares somberly into the fire, the Captain aghast at his side.)
Captain: But, Boss-
Pain: No one should have that kind of power over other people.
(On Pain's face, the dancing flames are reflected in his glasses.)
Pain: And we don't do biological weaponry. Period.
(Ben pats Pain on the shoulder reassuringly, accidentally wiping blood onto Pain's suit, further blemishing it. Pain is still deep in thought.)
Ben: You made the right decision, laddie.
(Pain snaps out of his thoughts. Clenching a fist, he yells to his men authoritatively.)
Pain: Alright! Enough of this! We've got an island to secure!
(He approaches some idle henchmen and starts giving out commands.)
Pain: I want every hostile presence removed, files raided, and the island rigged to blow within the next two hours!
(Pain motivates the henchmen to scatter, the henchmen fleeing with Pain shaking his fist at their retreating backs. Captain and Ben get distracted by Ben's pet monster in the behind them.)
Pain: Chop chop! Get to it!
(Pain turns his attention onto Ben and the monster, glancing at them over his shoulder.)
Pain: And as for that... I want it on a bloody leash while we're moving around.
Monster: Gragh!
(Pain aproaches them, examining the monster, who grins back. Ben salutes. A helicopter lands on the platform behind them, dropping off a henchwoman with a medical bag.)
Pain: If you're bringing it with us, hurry up and find a crate big enough!
Ben: Aye, sir!
(Pain leans against the safety rail on one side of the platform and stares off into the distance. The Captain sidles up next to him and watches the henchmen work, leaning with his back to the railing. Ben and his monster approach the henchmen. The Lieutenant directs the newly arrived medic around. Captain breaks the silence.)
Captain: Glad this is over, Boss?
Pain: Not really.
(Pain's face frowns as he contemplates the last day's events.)
Pain: I can't help but think that we've landed in the middle of something...and we've only just started.
Episode tagline: Pain is apparently "not really" happy that his little adventure in Spain is drawing to a close. The creative team behind this comic do not share this sentiment. Let's blow this popsicle stand!
(There is a non-canon bonus alternate ending. Samada has just leapt off of the platform. Her eyes go wide as she realises she's miscalculated.)
Samada: Oh shi-
(Back on the platform, Pain and the Captain are startled by a fountain of blood spurting up from where Samada disappeared to along with a severed hand and foot.)
SFX: SPLUTCH
(The Helicoptor then appears, its rotor blades covered in blood and flinging gore and bits of meat all over the now blood-soaked men.)
SFX: CHOKKA CHOKKA CHOKKA
(Pain, the Captain and several henchmen are all covered in blood and chunks of meat. Each of them are in shock, Pain tugging on his hair, his eyes wide. The only one not in shock is the Captain, who's calmly smoking.)
Pain: Squuueeaaalll.
Captain: Huh. Wasn't expecting that.
