[Chapter 1: Occupant Sin 4]
Chapter 1: Occupant Sin 4
Mr. S. Pain goes to Spain! Travelling to a remote rural location with the Captain to buy a biological weapon, Pain finds himself suddenly up against a massive cult of Spanish brainwashed zealots out for his blood.
Can the intervention of a seven-foot Scotsman and a well-dressed woman who looks suspiciously like his accountant save the day? And what role does the druggie superagent Jack Bauser play in things?
(It's basically Resident Evil 4. Seriously.)
Episode published on Sunday 19th of July, 2015.
I always did wonder what happened to the village after Resident Evil 4 after the game ended. Ada blows up Saddler's island, which presumably takes care of the militant contingent of ganados, and Leon sure did take out a significant number of the civilian and zealot ganados (hundreds, if your playthrough was anything like mine). However, there's still presumably large swathes of the rural Spanish countryside populated with parasite-infected people and I sure feel sorry for the next poor uninfected sod who ends up at Salazar's castle, especially since Leon's already collapsed all the falling bridges and solved a bunch of puzzles in a manner that can't be re-solved.
I guess that's why in the Resi universe organisations like the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (BSAA) formed, to take care of lingering bioweapon threats?

(In a random hallway inside Burdener's island complex, elite Detulux henchmen are pointing assault rifles at a group of Burdener's infected soldiers. Pain and the Captain watch. Pain has removed his jacket and is carrying it over his shoulder due to it being covered in blood, thanks to Ben wiping some onto him accidentally in the previous episode.)
Pain (narration): We rounded up the remaining soldiers...
Soldier 1: Te voy a matar!
Soldier 2: Empieza a rezar!
(The henchmen open fire on the soldiers, who raise their arms to try and defend themselves but are otherwise helpless.)
Pain (narration): ...and put them out of their misery.
(Another corridor, slightly later. In the background, a soldier who's parasite has erupted from his head is being cornered by a couple more elite henchmen with assault rifles. In the foreground, Pain and Captain speak with the medical henchwoman - Betty. Betty has her first aid kit open with an unsure expression on her face. Captain is attempting to wipe the blood off of his face with a hanky.)
Pain (narration): Even if there was a cure, we felt that all the soldiers were too far gone to come back to normality.
Betty: ...I don't think I have anything for this.
Soldier (parasite): SCREE!
(Betty shrugs.)
Betty: Aspirin, maybe?
(Captain steps forward, looking pleased with himself as he makes a pun. Pain and the henchmen stare at him in disbelief. Betty closes her first aid kit.)
Captain: Well, he sure looks like he has a splitting headache!
(Betty lowers her kit, unsure. Pain's expression of disbelief intensifies whereas the Captain looks incredibly pleased.)
Betty: Erm... Ba bum-bum tish?
(Pain walks off, rubbing his temples with one hand. The Captain inches closer to Betty, who also looks pleased.)
Captain: You'll go far!
(Later, in the comms room, henchmen are working on the computers lining the room. The Captain is sorting through papers on a table at the back of the room, a henchmen bringing him more. Pain lounges in an office chair, his chin resting on his hand. Ben can be seen moving crates around in the corridor.)
Pain (narration): From what limited paperwork and computer data we could find, it seemed that the sample had been delivered to Burdener by Jack Bauser. He'd acquired it from his last mission with CUT under mysterious circumstances, and Burdener had paid him top price to be on his exclusive payroll.
(Outside the fortress, on a beach, some elite henchmen are ambling around. In the foreground, Bauser can be seen hiding from them behind a rock.)
Pain (narration): Speaking of Mr. Bauser, we never did find his body. We guessed that maybe it had dissolved away like many of the others.
(Back in the comms room, Pain strokes his chin in thought.)
Pain (narration): All the evidence implied that Burdener's cult had been a solitary affair. However, something about what he had said earlier that had stuck in my mind.
(Pain flashes back to Burdener being pelted with eggs by the Detulux security forces.)
Burdener: Don't you know who I am? Don't you know who I work for?!
(Back in the comms room, Pain stares at a drawer in the table next to him thoughtfully.)
Pain (narration): That last part had sounded particularly ominous.
(Pain opens the drawer. What he sees inside perturbs him.)
Pain: GASP!
(The Captain and the henchman sifting through the paperwork look up from what they were doing, concerned by their boss' reaction.)
Captain: Find something, Boss?
Pain: What?
(Pain runs a hand through his hair, calming down a little. Henchmen in the background ignore the scene in the centre of the room, carrying on with their work.)
Pain: Er, no. Nothing.
Captain: Oh. Well, we couldn't find anything either.
(Close up of the Captain. He's raising one eyebrow in response to Pain's outburst but otherwise showing no other concern at Pain's odd behviour.)
Captain: We're going to be moving out soon. They've got the C4 in place.
(Everyone filters out of the room. Pain's the last to leave. He has one last glance back at the desk over his shoulder, still clearly unsettled. The Captain is oblivious to this.)
Pain (narration): Nothing at all.
(Inside the desk drawer, papers are spilling out of a folder along with another picture of the man with long hair the boys had watched Burdener murder to retrieve the sample. The papers all have Spanish writing across them. On top of the papers is a buisness card with a logo printed across it. It is an omega symbol with a stylised seven stamped across it.)
Pain (narration): Just another dead end.
Episode tagline: Dun Dun Dunn! It's a buisness card. A business with a silk finish! GASP!
