Subtitle - xi. "The Real Villains"
(Gyrode has finished his sandwiches. Ralph still has his cup of tea and is sipping from it.)
Ralph: This tea is bloody awful.
Gyrode: I never said thank you for giving me my cut from that *thing last month.
Narrator: *See Steel Nation: Rise of the Two Doctors!
(Ralph sticks out his tongue.)
Ralph: Don't mention it. No, really, don't. It could ruin my reputation.
Gyrode: Still, it's pretty good, isn't it? We've been invited here, after all!
Ralph: They're all a bunch of losers, Gyrode. Everyone here is playing at it, calling themselves "criminals". We're the only men in the room who are proud to call ourselves "villains".
(Gyrode looks around.)
Gyrode: Now you mention it, we are the only accredited mad scientists in the room. How odd.
Ralph: Indeed, the thought had occurred. I'm not entirely sure why we're-
(He cuts himself off mid-sentence as he notices something across the room.)
Ralph: -I don't believe it!
(It turns out to be Pain, who's talking to Mara on the other side of the room. Both have their backs to Ralph but Pain's pointing over his shoulder in Ralph's direction and Mara is sneaking a peek at him over her shoulder.)
Ralph: It's him!
Gyrode: Who?
Ralph: The fool who *stole my Atomic Immolator! The one I told you about! He's over there, in the white suit.
Narrator: *See episode 88!
(Across the room, Pain and Mara wave at them. Pain has a manically forced grin, he's clearly not entirely happy that Ralph has seen him. Ralph's eye spins and he trembles with anger, his cup dancing on the plate in his hands.)
Ralph: Bastard!
(Gyrode rubs his chin in thought.)
Gyrode: If we get him alone I could break his arm in five places and get him to talk. A few of the old KGB interrogation techniques...
Ralph: No, I think this revenge requires subtlety.
(Gyrode grins like a cheshire cat.)
Gyrode: Hmm. The last time you tried "subtle" we couldn't scrape all the blood off the walls!
