Chapter 1: Occupant Sin 4

Mr. S. Pain goes to Spain! Travelling to a remote rural location with the Captain to buy a biological weapon, Pain finds himself suddenly up against a massive cult of Spanish brainwashed zealots out for his blood.

Can the intervention of a seven-foot Scotsman and a well-dressed woman who looks suspiciously like his accountant save the day? And what role does the druggie superagent Jack Bauser play in things?

(It's basically Resident Evil 4. Seriously.)

Page Notes

Episode published on Saturday 14th of July, 2007.

Following the castle section of Resident Evil 4, Ada conveniently turns up with a speedboat to escort Leon to the next part of the game, while also providing some exposition.

It also turns out that Lord Saddler has an entire island military facility at his disposal (including a docking bay and frigate!). I think the Spanish military have holes in their coverage to miss something as huge as this.

Title - 49: "Occupant Sin 4"
Subtitle - xxx. "The Island"

(The Captain peeks over the top of an outcrop of rock, still wearing a plethora of weaponry alongside his grenade headband. We can't see what he's looking at, but he appears perturbed.)

Captain: Whoa.

(Pain joins the Captain at his side, and we see what the Captain is looking at - the rocky outcrop is overlooking the sea, and moored at a dock is a slick looking speedboat. Sat in the speedboat and waving in their direction is Samada.)

Samada: Need a lift?

(Pain climbs over the rocks and stands atop them.)

Pain: Why? We're quite happy here, thank you.

(Samada checks her nails nonchalantly.)

Samada: If you want the master Fluga sample, you'll have to go to Burdener's private island to get it.

(Ben appears at Pain's side. He's still carrying an entire armoury on his person as well.)

Ben: His own island, eh?
Pain: Sure! Why the hell not?

(The three stroll towards the speedboat and Samada waves out at the two carrying weapons.)

Samada: Ah, ah, dump the artillery. We'll sink with all that weight.

(Ben and the Captain shed their personal armoury.)

Captain: Aww!

(The Captain climbs on to the boat. Samada points at Ben, who is standing on the dock next to Pain.)

Samada: (playfully) He's pushing the limit already.
Pain: (irate) What the hell do you want him to do? Rip his own muscles out and throw them away?

(Ben removes his red bandanna, the only item he hadn't shed. He seems amused by the conversation.)

Ben: I could give it a try-
Pain: -You bloody won't. I've had enough trouble keeping my lunch down today as it is!

Narrator: And so-

(The gang are all on the boat, as it slices through the water at top speed.)

SFX: VROOM!

(In the boat, the Captain leans forward and speaks over Pain's shoulder.)

Captain: Why are we doing this, Boss? We could just go home!

(Pain adjusts his glasses.)

Pain: I have a feeling that we should intervene. We did come here to retrieve a new biological weapon, and I suspect it is this "Fluga" sample thingy that's making everyone crazy. You remember that Spanish guy back in the castle? The one Burdener killed?
Captain: Yeah?

(Pain begins wiping his glasses off using his tie.)

Pain: I think he was waving it around. So now we've got to go get it off Burdener.

(Samada weaves the boat between two large rocks.)

Captain: I don't suppose this island will be the kind of place where someone could...I dunno...buy lewd magazines and restock on cigarettes?

(As the boat emerges from between the rocks, Pain turns and looks at Burdener's island on the horizon. It is a vast grey ugly mass with square concrete buildings, and tall watchtowers. Black smoke belches into the sky from the buildings. Oddly contrasting, there appears to be a ferris wheel on one end of the island.)

Pain: No.

(The Captain looks down, despondent.)

Captain: Poop.

Episode tagline: I just couldn't help it. I had to draw the ferris wheel.
