Chapter 2: An Inspector Calls

The Detulux team are shocked when the latest INTERPOL agent assigned to their case, Inspector Jacques Russo, puts two-and-two together and realises that Detulux Incorporated the legitimate domestics supplier might have something to do with Detulux Incorporated the illegal arms trading firm.

There's a mad scramble as Inspector Russo makes a surprise visit to Detulux HQ. Will Russo find evidence of a link and arrest the team? Is Pain really dressing as Doc Holliday and putting on a terrible Southern drawl as a disguise? What does Pain's (very expensive) solicitor have to say about all this?

Episode published on Sunday 19th of March, 2017.

I'm sure there's nothing important about this seemingly innocuous septic tank that plays music and coughs. Nope.

(The tour approaches Warehouse 14. The rain is really heavy now and Russo is soaked through.)

Russo: Let mé guez, zis eez anothair emptay warehouse "awaiteng restokeng"?
Paine: Nosiree! We keep the septic tank in heyah.

(At a security panel next to the door, Pain swipes a card, scans his hand and then scans one of his eyes in a retina scanner embedded in the panel.)

Russo: Zis eez a lot of securitay fair a septic tank, eez eet not?

(Pain seems suddenly dramatic, looking down and sombre.)

Pain: It's not stopping people from getting in, it's what might be trying to get out.
Slymme: Have you considered advising your work force on revising their dietary intake?

Narrator: Inside...

(Inside the warehouse, there's a large green rounded septic tank against a wall. Musical notes faintly play from it.)

Russo: Eet eez a septic tank.
Paine: That's what I was tellin' ya!
Russo: Eet eez surprizeng-lee fresh een haire. Ai was expecteng a 'airribuhl sténch. Also, eez zat music ai can 'air?
Slymme: Ahem, the business practices surrounding the storage of biological waste materials is at the disgression of the company and is not subject to outside criticism [although it is a little bit weird that the septic tank appears to be playing Beethoven's 5th].

(Two faint coughs comes from the septic tank. Russo and Slymme look at the tank quizzically. Pain nervously fingers his collar, sweating.)

Paine: Aheh, that's the intake pipe backing up, I'm sure.

(Russo firecely eyeballs Paine. Slymme just smiles, placing a hand on Russo's shoulder.)

Slymme: If the good Inspector here wishes to thoroughly investigate the contents of the septic tank as part of his investigation, I'm sure we'd be happy to hold his coat-

(Russo walks away, seriously unimpressed. Pain breathes a sigh of relief.)

Russo: Non, non, eet eez fine. Ai am not clambaireng around een merde todai, thank you.
Pain: Phew!
