[Chapter 2: An Inspector Calls]
Chapter 2: An Inspector Calls
The Detulux team are shocked when the latest INTERPOL agent assigned to their case, Inspector Jacques Russo, puts two-and-two together and realises that Detulux Incorporated the legitimate domestics supplier might have something to do with Detulux Incorporated the illegal arms trading firm.
There's a mad scramble as Inspector Russo makes a surprise visit to Detulux HQ. Will Russo find evidence of a link and arrest the team? Is Pain really dressing as Doc Holliday and putting on a terrible Southern drawl as a disguise? What does Pain's (very expensive) solicitor have to say about all this?
Episode published on Sunday 6th of November, 2016.
I'll put my hand up now and say I don't know how private airfields work, if they have maintenance corridors or even if there's room for an airfield on the outskirts of Paris. A better writer would probably have researched this or at least plugged in a couple of search terms into Google. Screw it, we're committed now!
In all honesty if the background of the Detulux compound hadn't been established by my younger self ten years ago I'd have retconned or altered Detulux to be based out of Southern France. There's loads of room out there.
Artist's note: The writer may not do research, but I do to a degree! There is room on the outskirts of Paris and Ralph is even pointing in the correct direction for such a location in episode 88! The artist, doing research the writer can't be bothered to do since 2016!

(Outside a warehouse, Captain stands on a box holding a clipboard and pen, surrounded by regular worker henchmen. Ben stands off to one side and Lenny the driver relaxes against a car watching the scene. It's now beginning to rain quite heavily.)
Captain: Guys! Guys! Listen up! We've only got one chance to get this right with no time to practice. If we get this wrong we can all look forward to an uncomfortable bed in a cold cell! We formulated this plan for emergencies just like this!
(A henchman raises his hand.)
Henchman: I've seen the plan, and I have a question. Exactly how drunk were you guys when you came up with it?
(The Captain scratches the back of his neck, unsure. Ben looks equally unsure.)
Captain: Reasonably...Tequila may have been involved.
Ben: Ah don't even 'member comin' up wif a plan!
(The Captain places a hand on his forehead.)
Captain: Look, it's simple...
(We see the Captain's thoughts as he thinks them through. They look like illustrated plans drawn in crayon. The first thought is of the main Detulux building; underneath it, under the ground, is a long grey tunnel.)
Captain: The entire complex used to be a private airfield. It has a network of maintenance corridors running under it...
(In the Captain's second thought, henchmen carry boxes out of one warehouse into another via the tunnel. Stood in the empty warehouse are Pain and Russo, the latter looking very confused with lots of question marks over his head.)
Captain: ...so we are going to move all the merchandise out of each warehouse that the Inspector wants to inspect into other warehouses before the Inspector...inspects them.
(Another henchman raises their hand.)
Captain: Yes?
Henchman 2: How big are these underground corridors?
(Another henchman answers him with a grin.)
Henchman 3: I hope you're not claustrophobic.
(The henchman who asked the first question stood next to them places a hand on his forehead in despair.)
Henchman: This is going to be a clusterfuck.
Episode tagline: Incidentally you may have noticed that we're not censoring swear words any more. Detulux Inc. is "R" rated now! Fuck yeah, bitches!
