[Chapter 1: Occupant Sin 4]
Chapter 1: Occupant Sin 4
Mr. S. Pain goes to Spain! Travelling to a remote rural location with the Captain to buy a biological weapon, Pain finds himself suddenly up against a massive cult of Spanish brainwashed zealots out for his blood.
Can the intervention of a seven-foot Scotsman and a well-dressed woman who looks suspiciously like his accountant save the day? And what role does the druggie superagent Jack Bauser play in things?
(It's basically Resident Evil 4. Seriously.)
Episode published on Tuesday 6th of March, 2007.
The chainsaw-carrying enemy in Resident Evil 4 is called Dr. Salvadore, and his shtick is to walk slowly in your direction hefting his preferred method of surgery above his head. One touch from the chainsaw's blade will usually kill you, or in the very least remove most of your health. Most of the time when the blade connects you are treated to a delightfully graphic scene as the chainsaw is pulled through Leon's neck...to quote Brutal Legend, DECAPITATIOOOOOOON!
Like most video game heroes, Leon won't pick up any of the chainsaws from fallen Salvadores (and there are definitely more than one, must be an extended family). Saying that, a chainsaw is a little bit impractical against mobs of enemies, and anyone who's used the one in Silent Hill 2 will recount how cumbersome they can be. There's still the coolness factor, though. Just look at Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. I suppose Leon doesn't have Bruce Campbell's almighty chin, though.
Don't ask where Pain got the hockey mask from. Perhaps it's actually a soup-strainer that was lying around that building's kitchen. A soup strainer with adjustable straps.

(Dr. Galvavore, the farmer with a sack over his head carrying a chainsaw, steps into the house having cut the door in two.)
Pain: Quick, out the window!
SFX: VRRM!
(The Captain leaps out through one of the windows - the glass and frame in this one have fell out. He turns to see Pain narrowly avoiding the chainsaw's blade as Galvavore brings it down in an arc towards him.)
Captain: Boss?
Pain: I'll deal with this (dodging the blade) -whoah!
SFX: VRRAGH!
(The Captain turns away from the window and covers his eyes with his hands. Pain's leg flails in the window as we hear the sounds of a fevered and probably comical battle.)
Captain: I can't watch!
SFX: CLASH! VRAGH! CLATTER! CLANG!
(There's a sudden silence. The Captain peeks out from behind his fingers.)
Captain: Is it over?
(From the front of the house, Galvavore flees the building while comically flailing his arms. Behind him, Pain brandishes his chainsaw while wearing a hockey mask he's somehow acquired, albeit with his glasses over the eye holes. There's a lens flare on the chainsaw for dramatic effect.)
Galvavore: Mierda!
SFX: VRRRM!
(Pain revs the chainsaw dramatically. There's an evil, bloodthirsty glare in his eyes from behind the mask.)
Pain: That's right, run! You cheap Leatherface wannabe! Now...
SFX: VRRRRRAAAAAGHH!
(Pain hefts the revving chainsaw above his head.)
Pain: WHO WANTS SOME?
SFX: VRRM-VRRRM!
(The mob of pitchfork and torch-wielding farmers in front of him all look shocked and/or perplexed. Suddenly, the all scarper in terror. Pain raises the hockey mask off of his face and stops the chainsaw; he's grinning evilly. The Captain peers around the corner of the building at him.)
Pain: That's what I thought!
Captain: Whoa.
Episode tagline: Those villagers were all 'yeah, we can handle this', when BAM, they found that even zombie hive mind powers can't stop them from needing to suddenly run off to find a new change of underwear when facing a chainsaw.
