Chapter 2: An Inspector Calls

The Detulux team are shocked when the latest INTERPOL agent assigned to their case, Inspector Jacques Russo, puts two-and-two together and realises that Detulux Incorporated the legitimate domestics supplier might have something to do with Detulux Incorporated the illegal arms trading firm.

There's a mad scramble as Inspector Russo makes a surprise visit to Detulux HQ. Will Russo find evidence of a link and arrest the team? Is Pain really dressing as Doc Holliday and putting on a terrible Southern drawl as a disguise? What does Pain's (very expensive) solicitor have to say about all this?

Page Notes

Episode published on Sunday 28th of February, 2016.

I'm not sure why "I do declare" is such a Southern thing to say, although I admit that Pain is completely mangling its usage as he's supposed to be using it in conjunction with an exclamation. Like "I do declare, that man there has such a massive beard!", apparently.

(Pain changes into dark grey trousers, a purple shirt, a blue bolo tie, red waistcoat, grey greatcoat and matching fedora. He applies a fake moustache and beard, and then exits his bathroom walking with a limp and leaning on a cane, twirling his moustache between two fingers. The Captain has returned to the office and is picking up the wage slips Pain shoved on to the floor a few episodes back, a big pile of them in one arm. Ben is helping, having casually lifted Pain's desk with one arm to let the Captain get underneath it. Snowball the cat sits on the new office chair, previously Lord Burdener's "throne".)

Pain (as Sebastian Paine): Excuse me, pardners. Could either of y'all young'uns direct an ol' gent to the whereabouts of 'spector Jacques Russo?

(The Captain frowns.)

Captain: Sorry Boss, your Southern accent really sucks.
Paine: Ah do declare!
Cap: ...Declare what?

Episode tagline: The problem with having a toilet right next to the bathroom door really is keeping the smell under control, especially when it adjoins your office. It's hard to keep an air of authority when the air in question reeks of your stanky backside.
