[Chapter 1: Occupant Sin 4]
Chapter 1: Occupant Sin 4
Mr. S. Pain goes to Spain! Travelling to a remote rural location with the Captain to buy a biological weapon, Pain finds himself suddenly up against a massive cult of Spanish brainwashed zealots out for his blood.
Can the intervention of a seven-foot Scotsman and a well-dressed woman who looks suspiciously like his accountant save the day? And what role does the druggie superagent Jack Bauser play in things?
(It's basically Resident Evil 4. Seriously.)
Episode published on Thursday 10th of August, 2006.
That always really bothered me about the opening to Resident Evil 4. Leon S. Kennedy, now appointed to the secret service and tasked with retrieving the president's daughter from a non-specific region of Spain, does not even have the tact to try and learn some of the language before he goes. Even taking a translator along would have been enough! Instead, when escorted to the local village by some policemen, he proceeds to barge into someone's house a thrust a photograph of the President's daughter into the face of the man living there.
I don't know about you, but if a foreigner burst into my house holding a photograph to my face, talking some unknown language and quite clearly wearing a holster under their coat, I think I'd reach for an axe if I had one too. Leon, on the other hand, doesn't even consider this possibility and shoots the advancing angry man anyway. His assessment of the corpse is something along the lines of "hmm, not a zombie". Why would he be? Just because of the one incident in Racoon City, Leon is now paranoid that all violence is zombie related.
I am being harsh. At best the "not a zombie" line was a jab at how RE4 was the first Resident Evil game not to have zombies. As for Leon's lack of tact, I always liked to think of that as a subtle jab at Americans in general. AMERICA! F*CK YEAH!
Oh, and "Pubelo" is intentionally misspelt here, just for the "pube" gag. The actual spelling is "pueblo", Spanish for "village".

(A blue car drives down a dusty rural road.)
Pain (monologuing): It all started...
(Inside the car are Pain and another man. Pain is driving. The man in the passenger seat is wearing a white cap and a flak jacket over a white shirt. He is also wearing big sunglasses and a cigarette is perched in his mouth. The car proceeds further down the road, surrounded on both sides by dead trees and brown countryside.)
Pain: ...We're lost.
(The car slows to a stop; the man in the passenger seat opens his door and steps out enthusiastically.)
Passenger: Hey, there's a house over there! I'll go ask for directions!
Pain: (trying to stop his passenger) Captain - Oh goddamn.
(Pain emerges from his side of the car, watching with an unimpressed expression as his passenger, The Captain, enters the house nearby. He begins to whistle as he strolls towards the house, his hands resting behind his back. Tumbleweed rolls past his feet, and a sign on a nearby tree reads "PUBELO", with an arrow underneath pointing off somewhere. As Pain enters the house, he can hear the Captain talking to someone in the next room - it is a man in front of their fireplace, reaching out for something as the Captain talks at them.)
Captain: -So I was just wondering if you could-
(The man is revealed to have grabbed a hand axe from on top of the fireplace, and as they turn towards the Captain they swing it viciously. A frown of anger is on their bearded face and the Captain's cigarette flies from his mouth as he squeals with surprise.)
Man: RAAARGH!
Captain: AAGH!
(The Captain pulls out a mini-UZI seemingly from nowhere and riddles the man with bullets.)
SFX: DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA!
(The Captain smiles as he admires his handiwork: the bullet-riddled corpse now lying face down on the floor in front of him and bleeding out. He looks up to see Pain stood there in confused anger.)
Pain: You just shot the guy?
Captain: (defensively) He came at me with an axe!
Pain: You just walked into his house randomly off the street! Perhaps he was protecting himself from the deranged foreign stranger who had just appeared in front of him!
(The Captain points to a corner of the room with his left hand while lighting a new cigarette in his mouth with his right.)
Captain: Then what about those rotting skulls festering on that shelf over there?
(We see that there is indeed a cabinet loaded with skulls in various stages of decay, covered in maggots.)
Pain: He's a collector.
Captain: (pointing a thumb towards the window behind him) And his friends clawing at the windows?
(Two male farmers are pressed up against the window, clawing at the glass and apparently trying to get in.)
Pain: Welcoming committee.
Captain: (prising apart a set of blinds on another window) And the fact that truck is pushing our car over that ravine over there?
(Between the gap in the blinds, we can see that outside a truck has pushed their car on to its side and is indeed nudging it towards a ravine.)
SFX: VROOM!
(Pain is nonplussed.)
Pain: Well, shit.
